Link up???? hmmmm....

I have a lot of blogs that I follow and every now and again they will say that they are "linking up" with another blog, or multiple blogs....I have no idea what that means?? Anyone, Anyone?

HURRAY!!!!!!!

We had Ethan's 4 year old conference today at his preschool....and, wait for it....wait for it

HE IS CLEARED FOR KINDERGARDEN!

Whew.....although, I really had no doubts there is always that itty bitty part way back far in my head that thought...what if they say he is not ready? But thankfully that didn't happen. We are relieved! Now onto the wait to see if he gets into Community School of Davidson...February 28th can't get here soon enough! Fingers crossed!

Sewing closet redo...FINALLY!!

Since we have a fairly small house I have resorted to the closet in the playroom. There are a lot of things in my life that are a mess, my hair might not always be clean, the laundry might not always be done, or the dish washer emptied...BUT...my house in ALWAYS in order. I am a little neurotic about it but I cannot stand clutter. I mean I could have a pretty decent space in the playroom. but if I had to walk in there and see all my sewing stuff out and about....I would have to double up on my anxiety meds....lordy!

So...I am making it work and I LOVE IT!! My own 2' x 8' heaven!

I have had a friend contact me to make her crib bedding and I am super excited about it...will post pics on my progress.

While Ethan was in the shower with Jason....

He said, "daddy what are those?", Jason said, "those are my testicles, you have them too." Ethan proceeds to check out his man land and says,"hmmmm, I only have one little one." Jason,"no you have 2." Ethan, "oh okay, WOW daddy yours must be really old!"

Awesome...note to self....no more showers with Ethan!

Have you heard yet...I.HATE.SNOW!

But here in the good ole south we are getting dumped on. I know, I know...if you are from the north then you are laughing right now. Stop laughing...ain't nuttin' funny 'bout this!

But who am I...just a mom who has to do:
1. More laundry
2. More cleaning of wet things ALL OVER THE HOUSE
3. looking after More children in my house
4. More wiping of dog feet
5.more running nosees to wipe
6. More ornery kids to warm up...because they are FREEZING!
7. MORE, MORE, MORE....

But a least my kids loved it and were WORN SMACK OUT!!

Ethan's day at the farm!

Danny the Dolphin!

This is Danny the Dolphin. Sent home from school with us to take of for the week. Wow....this just solidified that I am not ready for homework! This was a fete...for me, that is. Ethan, as you know, is a very active boy. But he never thought to take Danny with him. And that was part of the project. We were to take him home, document the time he was at our house and write in a journal. We were to take pictures of his time here as well.

Winter Storm 2011 has not helped in this....I have no way of getting to the CVS to print the pictures off. Jason is having to "suck it up" and print them on his printer. I have heard..."I mean, that takes a lot of ink, Katie" a thousand times. Yea, I know...thanks!:)

Anyway...we are going to have a fabulous journal entry..LOL!

I have my fingers crossed that Ethan get into Davidson Community School...they have a NO homework rule! HALLELUJAH!! But its a lottery system and we are number 911. Yikes...

Add this to the list...

So this basically sums up my life..first and foremost I am a mom. Then comes licensed Cosmetologist....which takes more time than I thought, but love the extra money, HOLLA!...then comes novice clothes maker....THEN comes, my most favorite of my crafting, refinishing furniture....WHEW, that makes me tired just thinking about it. Well, my awesome brother and his wife have this great house in the mountains that they built years ago. They have done a awesome job furnishing it and decorating it. But the furniture enthusiast that I am...plus bargain shopper to boost..I have made it my mission to find them great deals...WELL I DID IT. And I am pumped!!

I have no pictures of this but I found a pottery barn bean bag with LAUREN embroidered on it for...wait for it..................$3! Yep you saw that right. Oh, my nieces name is Lauren, perfect!

And then I found this...its a bit of an eye sore now, but and little sanding and paint it will be awesome. I just love the shape of it! Oh and it was $6.

And then a little something for my house....I got this lamp for $6. There was still a retail tag on it for $85. It's an awesome finish of red with distressed black. PERFECT!!

This all happened at Goodwill. I never go to the Goodwill but something pulled me in there this week. Good thing!

Could I say awesome any more? Yep...AWESOME!

Finally!!

Thank you Pam over at True Mommyhood Stories for posting about the website www.Picnik.com. Its a site where you can fix your pictures and it only $25 a year! AWESOME!! I've been playing around with some pictures and this is what I have so far...

Before...

After...much better

I am sure some people could do more with this but for a newbee I am satisfied!!

Happy New year y'all!!

I have to say that we had a fabulous New years. This was the first year that there was no babysitter and we hung out as a family...made dinner..put the kids to bed...and then, friends came over. It was perfect. The older I get the less and less that I want to be driving around on New Years Eve. Plus we saved a TON of money by staying in. And best of all we could get sloppy and pass out in our bed!

The funniest part of the night was looking around and realizing that Jason was missing....on further investigation Jason was found PASSED OUT in Sophie's bed....yep snuggled up next to a 2 year old! Hyster! It still makes me laugh....
