Snow Day!!

We had a GREAT snow weekend!! Although, I must say, that I am ready for it to go away!! And I just heard on the news that there is more in the way. NOOOOOOOO!! One day out of Preschool is enough...my kids do better on a schedule. Plus, Sophie's birthday party is on Saturday at Build-A-Bear!! We are all excited about that, I think that the kids will love it. So even more reason to wish the snow away!!

With all of the white stuff on the ground Jason and I thought it would be fun to invite friends over for the afternoon! Glenn, Tara, Tyler and Reid Setzer; and Tommy, Betsy and Alexa Shores came and enjoyed the afternoon. We had cocktails and chili and the kids played in the snow and around the house. When it got dark, we roasted S'mores outside. The kids LOved it!! We made the most of what could have been a very boring day!! Thanks to the Shores and Setzer's for coming over!!

So let's all say a little prayer that the snow or ice or sleet or whatever it is that happens doesn't stick around and that life will resume!! I am ready for Spring and some warmer weather!!

Latest project!

The first two pictures are of my latest handbags!! Aren't they cute! I actually have a store in Clemmons that is going to start carrying them..Hip Chicks. Go and check them out soon!! I ended up taking over from a friend of mine that used to have her same bags there but no longer does, so thank you Gina for paving the way for me!! Hopefully they will be a hit!!

The last picture is of the boxes that I posted from my last blog, I had a go at them myself. They turned out super cute. I didn't use the interfacing that the tutorial called for, just because I didn't have any. They don't have the sturdy structure that they should but they are still functional. I love them and they fit all my scraps!!

How stinkin cute are these?!?

Okay so I saw these on a friends blog and I LOVED them. It seems pretty simple once you read through the tutorial. I am going to attempt them with some scraps that I have!! Just think of all the things that you could use these for!! This is the tutorial!!

We also had a great week...the weather was awesome for a January day. It was 60 degrees and we had a fabulous day of sidewalk chalk and paint!! I will say that every inch of the driveway was covered...thank goodness it rained the next day!! I am so looking forward to the spring and summer and spending our days outside!! Here are some pics of the day.

4 years and no ear infections....til today!!

I have taken pride in the fact that Ethan has never had a ear infection. I thought....what a blessing!! But a blessing no more!! Ethan has a little cold for about 2 weeks...just the typical runny nose and mild cough. But last night was the worst night since he was probably 18 months old. He woke up twice before midnight. And the second time, he was awake for about 2 hours crying that his ear hurt. It was MISERABLE!! For everyone. BTW, does anyone have a good home remedy for those late night ear aches? I felt helpless because there was nothing I could do!

But alas, he went to the doctor today and low and behold...ear infection. So we go to the CVS and get his prescription filled...and you know what it was?? Amoxicilin, nothing great there...but when I opened the bottle out came that ole smell that I remember well....Bubble gum!! Which btw, I am allergic to now...I learned that in college when I broke out in hives!! but I digress....anyway we are on our way to recovery. So far Ethan has gotten out of the bed twice but hopefully that was the last.

PS, as I type this I am watching 48 hours Hard Evidence....love it!!

and on a side note.....Yesterday was my mom's birthday. She came to visit us today and I gave her her present and card. It said...HAPPY 60th!! Problem is...she is 59. OOPS!!

Holy, Moly, it's been a while!!!

I just realized while reading another blog that I haven't posted a new blog since November....yes, NOVEMBER!! Not much has been going on here....the holiday's were great and Jason and I both said that this was the first Christmas that was really enjoyable for everybody. The kids were really into it and Ethan really understood the gist of it.

Jason and I were also able to get out for the first time in 4 years for New Years Eve. We had a blast and hung out with our awesome neighbors!! It was nice to just walk to the neighbors and walk home.

I also have a local store that is going to start carrying my twirl skirt and pillowcase dresses. I am very excited and have just ordered more fabric!! I very excited about this opportunity!!

I need another room....

Now that my craftyness has taken off and I have some new found loves I have realized that I need more space. But, that is nearly impossible unless we move, and I don't think that Jason will agree that the need of a craft room is a reason to move. So I am stuck in the dining room...or my bedroom so I can watch t.v. while I sew! I am busting at he seams with stuff and its driving me insane!

On a side note, I have come across this great zipper bracelet. I am off to the fabric store tomorrow to get my supplies. I will post pictures as soon as I get it dome. This is going to make great Christmas presents!! Here is a link for the tutorial. Now I just have to figure out how to make a cuff out of it.

Haloween '09

This was by far my favorite Halloween!! Ethan was at the perfect age to enjoy it to it's fullest. I was literally sweating trying to keep up with him. He ran and ran and ran.....and was in bed my 8:00!! Perfect, since the neighborhood bonfire started then as well. Jason and I were able to go and enjoy some fun with some neighbors!! Sophie did great as well....but that is to be expected. She is so chill! She only went to about 5 houses, not that she was ready to go home but it took about 2 hours to go to those 5 houses because she wanted to walk ALL BY HERSELF!! So I just did a ittle dropoff with Jason at the house and she helped him hand out candy!! All in all it was a great night!!
